SOL Review Sessions - April 21 to May 15
SOL Review sessions will start the week of April 21st, and will extend through May 15th. Activity buses will be available Mon-Thurs during this time.

      Mondays - English - 2:05 - 3:00              
                            Reading - Room 1102

      Tuesdays - Science - 2:05-3:30
                            Biology - Room 2206 
                            Chemistry - Room 2205
                            Earth Science - Room 2208

     Wednesdays - Social Studies - 2:05-3:30
                             Students will meet in the classrooms with their teachers

     Thursdays - Math - 2:05-3:30
                             Algebra I - Room 2108
                             Geometry - Room 2110
                             Algebra II - Room 2105

Additionally, several Advanced Placement (AP) teachers will be offering special opportunities for AP test practice/mock exams beyond those review sessions occurring during the weekday.

AP Exams: May 5-16
AP Exams will be administered Monday, May 5th through Friday, May 16th. Dates and times are preset by The College Board and must be adhered to. Parents/Guardians and students should review this important information from College Board and the AP Coordinator, Mrs. Kaufman. Contact Mrs. Kaufman in the Counseling Center if you have any questions.
FBLA students win awards
On April 4th and 5th the FBLA club traveled to the Reston Towne Center, Reston Virginia to compete in the FBLA 2014 State Leadership Conf.  The following are the place winners: 1st place-Impromptu Speaking -- Steven Tian; 3rd Place-Desktop Application Programming -- Kevin Pfeifle; 4th Place-Word Processing -- Suskriti Dixit; 5th Place-Network Design -- Faraz Khan & Ian McVey.  Great job to all participants! Challenge Index Ranks Battlefield in Top 5%

Battlefield High School ranks 61 in Virginia and 901 in the nation, according to The Washington Post's list of America’s Most Challenging High Schools (Challenge Index), putting it in the top 5%. 2nd Annual BHS History Contest: May 1
Attention all Bobcats interested in history! The National History Honor Society is sponsoring the 2nd Annual BHS History Contest. The contest will take place at 2:05 on May 1, in room 2125. $200 in gift cards to a location of your choice will be awarded to the top five finishers overall, in addition to the top finishers from each grade level! In order to reserve your spot at this prestigious competition, please email Mr. Calloway ( with your name and grade level. Please visit the National History Honor Society Fusion site for more information. Due to a scheduling conflict, the BHS History Contest has been postponed until May 1st.  Please see Mr. Calloway or the School Fusion site for more details.
Art Award Winner
Congratulations to Faith Schiefelbein for winning the Superintendent's Choice Award at Prince William County Art Show.
Yearbooks on sale
Yearbooks are still on sale and can be purchased online at enter school 13078. They can also be purchased in the front office or in room 1144. 
Senior Class Trip - Due May 6th
Senior Trip! Seniors travel to Hershey Park on Thursday, May 22nd. The cost of the trip is $70 and includes transportation to and from the park, admission ticket, and meal ticket (consisting of entree, side, and 2014 souvenir cup valid for $0.99 plus tax refills). Students will travel by coaches provided by Mt. Vernon Travel. Buses depart Battlefield at 7:30 AM and return at 9 PM. Note: To be guaranteed a seat, permission slips and payment must be dropped off in the Main Office no later than Tuesday, May 6th.  
NOVA Manassas Campus Open House: April 26
The Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College will host "Discover NOVA Manassas" on Saturday, April 26th, 10:00am-12:30pm. Click here to see the activities available at this Open House.
The PWC Community Expo: May 10
The PWC Community Expo wil lbe held on Saturday, May 10, from 11am-4pm at the Pfitzner Stadium Complex. This event is a great opportunity for families to see what our teachers are teaching and our students are learning in the area of health and physical education and to take part in fitness, athletic, and outdoor activities in our community.

NVCC Manassas Campus FAFSA Saturdays
The Manassas Campus of NVCC is offering the opportunity for students and parents to receive assistance completing the FAFSA on selected Saturdays in April, May, and June. Registration is not required; this event is operated on a walk-in basis. Check the flyer for dates, times, and the list of items to bring to this event.
NVCC Manassas Campus "Test First!"
The Manassas Campus of NVCC will be offering "Test First!" on select Saturdays in April, May, and June. "Test First!" is an opportunity for current seniors to take their NOVA placement tests early. After students complete the placement tests, there will be First Year Advisor available to provide early advising, interpret placement test scores, and help students register for an orientation session. Students are strongly advised to complete the English and math placement tests in two different sessions. Students must arrive at 10:00am to take the placement tests. It may take them until 2:00pm to finish. This event is not a walk-in from 10:00am to 2:00pm
